MASTERS of the digital print, Chris Brooke and Bruno Basso today brought a more wearable element to their women's autumn/winter 2010-11 wardrobe.
"We wanted to show how our language, our digital technique, has evolved to the point where we can bring our aesthetic to more classic garments – the parka, the double-breasted coat, the blouson…and to takeaway the fuss while offering the option of creating a more complex look by mixing the pieces," explained the duo – also citing in their show notes how their inspiration this season had come from the ancient lands of the Silk Routes.
To this end, we had vivid oranges, sage greens, raspberry reds and cerulean shades encompassing shattered crystal, chevron, snakeskin and fur prints – yes, on dresses of maxi and mini lengths, but on jackets and shorts and dropped-crotch trousers too, which will make a nice and colourful addition to any winter wardrobe.
There was a sophistication, also – translating their signature frenetic prints into workable garments. Fur-collared coats were particularly chic and where there was no collar, there came a scarf – the Basso & Brooke accessory du jour.
