New at NM: Guerlain Terra Azzurra by Emilio Pucci
Good things happen when the beauty and fashion worlds collide. And now we can look forward to “Guerlain by Emilio Pucci”, arriving in stores in May. The collaboration draws its inspiration from summertime on the Italian Riviera. The collection utilizes a signature print, revived from the archives: “Winter Capri,” a blue flower interlaced with swirls and flames.
The lead character in the collection is the hybrid Terra Azzurra Bronzing Powder & Blush. The compact is made of ebony-colored wood and comes in an accessory pouch printed with the Pucci motif. The powder itself is also embossed with the Pucci logo and contains four colors that combine to universally flattering shade. You can look sun-kissed by using the bronzing shade all over the face or blend the three blush shades for contouring on the cheekbones. This is bronzer and blush, together in one beautiful package.
Guerlain’s classic Météorites are reinvented with Pucci packaging. The pearls are updated with blue and pink to correct yellow tones in the skin while green works against pink in fair skin. Beige and orange mimic a “day at the beach” glow. And ivory and white leave you radiant. Météorites Perles D’azur is perfect to refresh your look at the end of the day, before an evening out.
And only the Météorites Pucci Collector’s Brush is fit to be used with these gorgeous powders. Its Kabuki-style bristles pick up the perfect amount of product and, naturally, is housed in its own Pucci print pouch.
I am already a huge fan of the original Guerlain Khôl Kajal in Black. The new Pucci reincarnation is “Blu Acqua.” It isn’t so intense, but highlights flecks of color in the eyes. The softer shade is perfect for a summertime evening, especially those by the shore.
Guerlain continues its tradition of supple, velvety powders in the Ecrin 4 Couleurs Eye Shadow in Capri. The warm coral and pink are surprisingly flattering on a range of complexions. The built-in highlighter and liner shades make this palette a no-brainer for travel.
Again, Guerlain and Pucci have brought blue to our eyes in the Le 2 Mascara in Blu.
The first brush traditionally lengthens, curves, and separates. The second miniature brush is more nimble and should be used on inner and outer corners or lower lashes.
The Terracotta Gloss is offered in three shades:
•#10 Porto Fino: an incredibly shiny coral pink to set off a sun-kissed glow to perfection.
•#11 Porto Ercole: a sensual brown to pair with a spice-toned complexion.
•#12 Porto Azzurro: this isn’t actually blue lip gloss but rather perfectly shinny and transparent.
The Terracotta Nail Polish offers brilliant options for summertime toes and nails. I can’t help but be reminded of a Caribbean cocktail.
◦01 Paradisio: a cheery, luminous coral pink with a high-lacquer finish.
◦02 Riviera: a powerful electric indigo blue with a subtly metallic finish.
The Pucci Collection for Guerlain will be available in May at all NM stores except St. Louis, Oakbrook, Scottsdale, Palm Beach and Austin.
